When September Comes
As the summer is in midflow September and the next academic year is probably far (far, far) from your mind. Bear with me a moment while I invade your summer party (believe me it will be worth it) with a few things to keep in mind while you are basking in the sun and enjoying a well earned summer break.
Whether you are waiting for exam results or just returning to work as normal in September, the new academic year provides us with a wonderful opportunity not just to buy new shoes and stationary supplies but to begin again. Regardless of what goals you set in January, September provides us all with a wonderful opportunity to reflect, take stock and finish the year strong and with a big bang!
Beyond the lazy and fun summer evenings, are you excited about what waits for you in September? If the answer is 'yes', brilliant. Read on so you can smash it. If the answer is 'no', why not? It doesn't have to be that way. Every single person on this planet has unique skills, passions and abilities and when you are utilising these it is a very exciting place to be and the script is flipped from survive to thrive.
Many of our clients come to us to help them to re-discover theirs. For a variety of reasons our skills, passions and abilities can become buried. We are here to help you dig them out or maybe just take stock to help keep you on track. We would love to chat to you some more about our Octagonal Mindset and to see if we can help, but in the meantime, while you are playing on the beach or enjoying a sunset, have a think about the following 8 questions:
If failure was impossible
If you embraced your originality and unique ability
If you respected and didn’t rush the process
If you invested your time, effort and energies generously
If you prioritised innocence and was motivated by kindness
If you lived out your values and prioritised what was important
If you focused on your effect and the influence you could make
If you committed to sticking to it no matter....what would you do?
