Octagonal Recruitment Criteria
Zero Exclusion - We accept applications from anyone who wants to work for us, regardless of qualifications, previous experience or convictions.
Integrated Support - Each person who applies to work for us has to nominate a support person which they have regular physical contact from within their local community.
Competitive Employment - We are a business and are sustainable through the sale of our products and services not donations or grants. Therefore we all set our own performance and sales goals.
Benefits Signposting - We signpost applicants to in-work support and benefits available to them.
Quick Response - We process applications quickly and respond to all enquiries within 1 working day.
Ongoing Progression - We provide excellent employability training for people who struggle to access opportunities but also offer progression opportunities for people who would like to stay with us.
Preferences Honored - We provide full training and support but we work with applicants to run and grow their business in a way that works best for them, with very few restrictions in place.
Systematic Development - We exist to motivate and inspire. That starts internally as a team so we can then bring great products and services to our customers.
Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is a model of supported employment for people with mental illness. At 70x7 Ltd we have extended and use this model to enable us to recruit and support anyone who is struggling to secure competitive employment.
There is now overwhelming international evidence that 'place then train' models – and IPS in particular – are much more effective than traditional approaches (such as vocational training and sheltered work) in successfully getting people into work. The evidence for efficacy of IPS is very strong and can be generalised between countries. IPS involves intensive, individual support, a rapid job search for competitive employment followed by placement in paid employment, and time-unlimited in-work support for both the employee and the employer. It is also open to all those who want to work regardless of diagnosis and although it is not a clinical service it maintains a clinical link. For additional information and specific academic research on the IPS Model please contact IPS Works or Centre For Mental Health.
